Omarchy Flickering — Intel Mac Mini (Continuous)

Status: Under investigation — continuous flicker reported by user (Alister) on Intel Mac mini (first thinner model) with Omarchy installed. Not Apple Silicon (apple-drm / simpledrm race — see omarchy-mac commit e06fa26). Most likely cause: hybrid graphics / external-monitor / compositor-level flicker (Hyprland + Chrome/GPU + apple-gmux / i915 interaction), per Omarchy GitHub #2745 (NVIDIA flicker, GPU-accel-related) and #2800 (scaling-related screensaver flicker / focus race).

Quick fixes to try (from verified issue reports):

• env LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=iHD (or radeonsi if AMD discrete) in ~/.config/hypr/envs.conf; reboot.
• Hybrid GPU: /etc/modprobe.d/apple-gmux.conf → force_igd=y; rebuild initramfs; reboot.
• Chrome / Chromium flicker: disable GPU acceleration (chrome://flags or --disable-gpu); --use-gl=desktop removed (Chrome 149+); try --use-angle=gl.
• External monitor: check gamma/display profile; confirm i915 / amdgpu / apple-dr loads (dmesg).
• Idle / screensaver: disable screensaver or adjust GDK_SCALE / scaling (#3924: 1.2 / 1.33 breaks; try 1.0 / 1.5 / 2.0 or disable).

Not confirmed fixed — needs user testing. Log updated when outcome known.
